What Are Mitochondria?

Mitochondria are known as the “powerhouses” of the human body because they produce all of the essential energy needed for the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and bowels to function healthily. We have more than 100 quadrillion mitochondria located throughout our cells and they are responsible for creating 90% of the energy humans need to live.
